MARIA IMMACULATA HOSPITAL : My Wife Delivered there, but Never again...

My wife delivered there, BUT, A BIG BUT, she cursed the place for what she went through, every-time we drive past the kaplace she bitterly recalls the hardship/negligence and carelessness she went through the arms of those 'proffessionals'. Funny we were referred by a friend who said the place is very good and clean - no queues etc!

She had also referred her friend to the hosi, BUT after delivery- Thanks to God, she called her immediately and changed her mind.

Well, i concur - to all mothers, sisters, friends etc - dont dare go to the place to bring a life to this earth - look for another place with 'decent professionals'.

MARIA IMMACULATA HOSPITAL : My Friend Almost died.

My friend almost died in the same place. She developed preeclampsia and those guys did not realise, thanks God I noticed that her face was swollen and called a dr who recommended we tranfer her immediately.By the time we reached Nairobi women, she was wheeled to the theatre to save the baby's life but thanks God her life  also got saved. They guys are totally incompetent and I hope  the place gets closed down. Its a death sentence for every woman who goes there for delivery!!!!

MARIA IMMACULATA HOSPITAL

Dear Friends,
When a woman dies from pregnancy or childbirth, it is not just a personal tragedy, but proof of how shamefully little many countries have done to tackle maternal mortality-Daily Nation September 20, 2010.

The Ministry of Health and its partners including UNICEF have been conducting vigorous campaign to intensify already existing efforts and strategies to prevent maternal deaths in Kenya. For a long time, this was just part of a job for me; part of the reason why they pay me at the end of every month. Yes the statistics were grim and shocking but because as so many human beings I could not put a face to this tragedy i continued reciting the statistics in seminars and workshops and trainings and conferences...but they remained just that....statistics
But on Dec 11th 2010 these statistics became a face for me.My dear friend, a beautiful young woman that i have known since 1996 (14 years to be precise) lost her life while bringing forth life. Snatched away so soon.....never to smile and laugh with us....never to hold her husband's hand again......never to suckle the beautiful daughter that she carried for 9 months that she leaves behind to face this life without a mother's comforting and guiding hand.
